The camber measuring instrument is simply laid on top of the track measuring rod or gauge (or permanently bolted or glued to same) and is available in open or enclosed designs. On both types the sensitive spirit level (accuracy +/- 0.7mm per metre) is levelled and the camber can then be read directly from the corresponding scale. The displays are aligned to the standard gauge of 1435 mm.
